Monte Agrella’s company has always placed farming and beekeeping side by side, thanks to a course that took place in Sondrio, both for honey and bees which are essential for plants. Apoideas are the most important bees, like for example bumble bees; they aren’t useful for honey production, but they are important for fruit production, because they pollinate also with extreme weather conditions and can be stored in greenhouses.

Melliferous bee is a wild insect, responsible for pollination of many plants. Charles Darwin, a British biologist who lived in 1800, wondered about bees being pets. The domesticity of bees is very ancient.Bees produce honey for themselves; we remove it because it produces a surplus and humans take advantages.Wildflower honey is a honey that crystallizes after six months and is formed from the set of a lot of flowers and you can find it only in small shops or from beekeepers

The various types of honey are distinguishable through the blooms. They start from Acacia when they have completed the First Bloom and the second Bloom is Tilia, but often It overlaps with the bloom of chestnut. Today the decline of the bees Is due above all to the insecticides.

Moreover they can’t adapt quickly to the changing environment surrounding them . It also happens that invasive insects arrive . They came from abroad and attacked the different plants damaging the production . Thanks to the bees’ pollination, the fruit looks better .

⚠️CURIOSITY⚠️

One bite of three of every food that we eat is due to pollination. Moreover It is the Drosophila Suzukii, a Chinese insect imported and spread that pierces all blueberries.
