Castle of Vezio 3ATUR 22/23

In the centre of Lake Como, on the hill overlooking Varenna, stands the Castle of Vezio, which has been watching over the bottom of the Val d’Esino for over a thousand years, a former military outpost of medieval origin built to defend and control the lake and surrounding in and permanently inside the tower, an exhibition on the Lariosauro (prehistoric reptile found in our lake), a medieval setting that included ancient helmets and armour as well as flags depicting significant symbols. With its partially visitable underground, the botanical garden, the city walls, the statues scattered in the garden and the birds of prey of our small falconry center. On some days, the castle service offer bird of prey exhibitions for the public.

There are also the so-called ghosts of the castle of Vezio.
