Cycle Lanes: Lake Garlate and Valsassina (ENG)

CYCLE LANE OF LAKE GARLATE

A short distance from Lecco along the Adda river we can find a cycle lane along Olginate and Garlate lake. It winds through the towns of Pescate, Garlate and Olginate. The cycle layne is 20 km long and it is easily practicable by bike along its asphalted ground.

Along the way it is possible to admire the widely-known Castle of Innominato, the Silk Museum of Garlate, the dam and Villa Sirtori in Olginate and Santa Maria del Lavello. Between Garlate and Pescate we can observe three playgrounds (“Addio ai Monti”, la “Fornace” e le “Torrette”). From Pescate we can enjoy the view of the small village of Pescarenico, with mount Resegone in the background.

Other mountains that dominate the area are: Erna, Due Mani, Melma, Magnodeno, San Martino, Monte Barro

CYCLE LANE OF VALSASSINA

The cycle-lane of Valsassina winds through the valley surrounded by the lush mountains of Lake Como. Setting off from Barzio you will ride across the villages of Pasturo, Introbio, Primaluna and Cortenova, till Taceno. It stretches for 15 km and is practicable by bike both by adults and kids. The cycle lane is asphalted and separated from the main road, which makes it a safe place. Along the way you can find many playgrounds, kiosks and cafes.

The landscape is breathtaking and along the way it’s possible to admire the waterfalls of Sprizzotolo, the stream Pioverna, the Park of Pulses and many mountain ranges.
